Lois provided this tasty recipe when she was on the lunch committee for the February 2014 meeting. These cookies are delicious.
¼ c butter, softened
¼ c canola oil
¼ c granulated sugar
¼ c powdered sugar
1 egg
¼ t vanilla
1¼ cup flour
¼ t baking powder
½ T lavender buds
extra granulated sugar and butter, softened
3 T. butter, melted
Preheat oven to 375.
Mix butter, oil, sugars, egg and vanilla. Mix in flour and baking powder.
Stir in lavender buds.
Drop by teaspoonful onto parchment paper covered cookie sheet.
Top with large granulated sugar (white or colored).
Dip bottom of a small glass onto softened butter (about 1 T).
Then dip the glass bottom into the sugar, and then swirl it over the top of the cookies, flattening the cookies slightly.
Bake at 375 for 8 to 9 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
Enjoy!
