Almond Comfrey Salve
Lois shared this salve recipe. This is a good gardeners’ salve.
1¼ c almond oil 4 comfrey leaves, cut into small pieces
2½ T beeswax beads 20 drops lavender essential oil
Infuse almond oil with comfrey: put comfrey pieces into sauce pan, pour almond oil over.
Smash the leaves with a wooden spoon to release more of the comfrey oil.
Heat the oil, continue smashing the leaves.
Do not let the oil bubble.
After the oil is heated, allow it to steep for 1 to 2 hours.
Strain the oil through cheesecloth and a sieve.
Return the strained oil to the sauce pan.
Heat on low.
Add the beeswax beads; stir till beeswax is melted.
Turn of the heat.
After it has cooled somewhat, add the lavender essential oil.
Stir.
Allow it to cool till it starts to solidify; pour into jars and label.
