Elderberry Tincture Recipe
Ingredients
glass jar with lid such as Mason jar or recycled food grade glass jar
elderberries
vodka (90 proof)
Directions
- Place destemmed berries in the jar. Mashing the berries a little helps release the sugars.
- Pour vodka over the berries and completely cover the berries.
- Shake the jar daily and send warm, healing thoughts, thanking the plant for sharing its healing powers with you.
- After 6 to 8 weeks, strain the berries from the liquid.
- Rebottle the liquid in a small amber bottle with a glass dropper and store in a cool dark place.
- Compost the berries.
Dosage
3–5 drops, 3 times a day, especially during flu season
5 drops every 2 hours if the flu bug does hit you
Notes
Children may benefit from this tincture at a reduced dose but it does contain a minute amount of alcohol.
