Pumpkin Bread
Maria served this delicious bread at our 2016 Annual Herb Sale.

1½ c granulated sugar                             1½ ground cloves                  1 t baking powder
1½ c firmly packed brown sugar           1½ t cinnamon                     ½ t salt
1 c oil 1½ t nutmeg                                    ¾ c raisins,                          ¾ c chopped dates
1 can (16 oz) pumpkin                               ½ t allspice                              or ¾ c walnuts
3 c all-purpose flour                                  1 t baking soda

Combine sugars and oil. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and pumpkin.
Combine flour, spices, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to sugar mixture.
Stir in fruits or nuts.
Pour into two greased 9 x 5 inch or one 9 x 5 and two 7 x 3 ½ inch loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 70 minutes for larger loaves or 60 minutes for smaller loaves.
Makes 2 large loaves or 1 large loaf and 2 small loaves.
